David and Lisabeth with Sparkle Stories will be bringing a story to life each season here at Rhythm of the Home.
“The Lion’s Eye” is the first story in the new series, The Willowbee Tree.
“In the backyard of an ordinary house on an ordinary street in an ordinary town, there was once a most extraordinary tree. It was an enormous Willow tree, and in the middle of its trunk there was a rather sizable hole. The hole may have been started by a woodpecker long ago, and then expanded by a family of squirrels, but since then the hole had grown and become rather. . . magical.”
And so begins the very first story of the brand new Sparkle Stories series The Willowbee Tree. The series follows the Willowbee children — Piper, Clancy and Ty — and the adventures they take through the magical “door” that is the hole in their Willow Tree.
Six-year-old Clancy notices something strange about the willow tree in the back yard of his new house. Could that be a glow coming from the center of the tree? On closer inspection, he finds a large hole. And more than that, he discovers that it leads him to a wonderful land where animals talk and a little boy can play games with giddy zebras, a joyful baboon and a very persnickety lion.
